OxygenOS will be featured for the first time on OnePlus Nord 2

We should be seeing OnePlus’s next smartphone, the OnePlus Nord 2, launched later this month. Several details about the phone have already emerged online ahead of the device’s launch, and it will undoubtedly be the company’s next big release.

In a recent interview with XDADevelopers, the company confirmed that the Nord 2 will indeed feature the new OxygenOS 11.3 — a UI that combines OxygenOS and ColorOS code. After OnePlus announced the merger of OxygenOS and Oppo’s ColorOS, this news comes as a welcome surprise. Oliver Zhang, OnePlus’ Head of Product, also revealed there will not be too many changes to the OS, and that it will be similar to the vanilla OxygenOS. OxygenOS and ColorOS are built using the same codebase, and OnePlus previously explained that by using the same codebase in the future, OnePlus and Oppo can develop operating systems together with greater ease.
